taken Lancaster Circus Queensway Birmingham 1974/5. It has just past to West Midlands FS. Herbert Lomas were a well known ambulance producer and this is based on a typical design of theirs.

There used to be a big Commer van that looked a bit like this in a scrapyard at Bowesfield in Stockton on Tees during the early 80's. You couldn't get near it for a picture owing to the two ferocious werewolves that guarded the yard. All gone now though.

Could well be by an ambulance design as Birmingham was a combined Fire /Ambulance Service prior to 1974.
